Final Images

These are my final images which have been slightly altered in photoshop. I am happy with how these photos have turned out as a series.

 Third Shoot

My third shoot was on a much more weathered day, which let me play alot more with the tones and colours i was hoping to achieve in the first two shoots. Although alot of the shots are very similar, i prefer certain aspects of this shoot more, like the sky for example. Now to see what they look like in photoshop.

Second Shoot

Here are my second shoot images. As i start to explore new places around the space i am in i discover new angles and ways of capturing an effective photo. The main problem i seem to be facing at the moment is the idea of making my images look eery and empty, so for my third shoot i will try take photos later in the day or providing an overcast day comes along. I am curious to find new ways of conveying my idea so i hope to branch off in my third shoot and take a series of very different shots.

Mini World

A confusing composition but here it is.

Project One Proposal

For my first project i have decided to use photography as a vehicle to communicate the ideas and feelings behind travel in our day to day lives. My motive for this decision comes largely from the lifestyle change between my previous home town and moving to Wellington, travel completely changes.

I thought a great way to portray the emotions behind travel could come from a space which places us around complete strangers and eliminates our normal securities, in this case the train station stood out to me. After researching a few artist models and photographers i have found this idea has grown on me. The fact that the train station is a larger place than a bus shelter or taxi stand creates an eery feeling in itself.

In this project i hope to demonstrate these emotions through a series of  photographs which display the travel between regular people.

Here are a few images i have found on the Internet. For my space i want to create the feeling of an empty and eery place based around travel and i thought these images portrayed this particularly well. I like the contrast between the black and white in these shots, the use of these colours turns these simple photos into complex and very deep images.
