Sato uses long exposures and a large-format camera to capture his movement through space. Utilizing exposure times that can last up to three hours, Sato uses flashlights, flashes, and mirrors to create points of light within a given space. Sato himself remains unseen in the image, capturing his presence on film but not his image.
