Final Series

The images i chose as for my final series are photos which i felt showed the idea of reflection the best. The waterfront was a perfect location for this project. The hardest part of this project for me was getting the balance between the light and dark areas right, without getting too much noise. I enjoyed this project and learnt alot about this side of photography. Enjoy.

Shoot 3 contact sheet

The third shoot was my final shoot and chance to take effective photos for my series. After refining my ideas i felt this shoot went well with alot of successful shots.

Shoot 2 contact sheet

This shoot was done up mt vic as i thought it would be interesting to create this idea of illuminosity on a larger scale, although it may not show reflection as much it was still an interesting shoot.

This shoot was a more experimental shoot, finding out what the cameras limits were and what the best shots came from. I enjoyed capturing the reflections off of the water and highlighting the bright colours around the waterfront.

Precedent Images

After doing some research into light photography and the different ways light can be captured, i chose to take the idea of reflections further. When i walked along the waterfront a few weeks ago i noticed how the lights of the buildings and city reflected onto the surfaces around them and changed their appearances totally. I was interested to experiment with taking photos in this area. These are some precedent images i found on the internet which caught my eye.

Project Three Proposal

For my third and final project I want to explore places that I find interesting in daylight, and show how they change and are abstracted when lit by artificial lighting. I will to focus on the way the light reflects off different surfaces under different lighting. I plan on using the water front as my location because of the many different mediums for showing the reflection of light.
To show this space and idea effectively I will use a series of single shots showing the different parts of the waterfront under lights at night time.

Final Images

My final images are worked around showing the contrast between different times of the day, and different ares around the train station. I am really happy with how these photos have come together as a series, i think they work well together and dislpay movement and fluidity. The reason i have left my photos in colour is to hightlight the areas such as the people who are moving through, as they turn out quite dark without turning the photo into a black and white image.
